As an architect and a visionary, it was important for me to deconstruct fantasy clichés using strict logic. In the world of Almarna, mana and ancient curses obey the laws of physics and chemistry. Meanwhile, the detective plot of the Aviation Safety Administration revolves around mechanical specifications, two-stroke opposed diesel engines, and forensic expertise. But the tedious technical background is just a framework. Inside the book lives what I love deeply myself: tangible domestic comfort, travel, unusual machinery, and strong women with huge, kind hearts who break the standards of glossy beauty.
