DigitalVintage Community RulesWelcome to our community! Our goal is to preserve the history of technology and create a comfortable environment for exchanging experience. Registration on the forum constitutes your full agreement to these rules.
1. General Provisions
1.1. These rules govern the use of all services of the DigitalVintage.ru website, including the forum, commenting system, and file archive.
1.2. Registration or use of site materials implies your acceptance of these rules. 1.3. All content is provided on an "As Is" basis. The Administration is not responsible for any damage (including hardware damage or data loss) resulting from the use of materials from the site. 2. Law, Liability, and Copyright
2.1. Compliance with the Law. Discussion, promotion, or organization of any activity that violates the laws of the Russian Federation or your jurisdiction is prohibited.
2.2. Intellectual Property. We respect the work of developers. Direct distribution of "warez" (links to cracks, serial numbers for modern software) is prohibited. Discussion of Abandonware (abandoned legacy software) is permitted, provided it does not violate the current licenses of the copyright holders. 2.3. Personal Responsibility. You are solely responsible for the content you post. The Administration is not liable for damage to your equipment incurred while following advice from the forum. 3. File Archive and Intellectual Property
3.1. Purpose of the Archive: Digital Vintage is a non-profit project dedicated to Digital Preservation. Photos, manuals, and software are posted solely for informational, research, and private non-commercial use.
3.2. Licensing: If the software is not free/open-source, you must purchase a license from the copyright holder for any commercial use. 3.3. DMCA / Takedown Policy: We respect copyright. If you are a rights holder and believe that a posted file violates your rights or does not qualify as Abandonware, please contact us at admin@digitalvintage.ru. The material will be removed immediately upon verification of rights. 4. Commercial Activity and Advertising
4.1. No Spam. Direct advertising of goods and services without prior approval from the administration is prohibited.
4.2. Useful Links. You may share links to spare parts, donors, or services (e.g., repair or custom case manufacturing) if it helps solve a technical problem within the context of the discussion. 4.3. Private Classifieds. Buying and selling vintage tech is permitted strictly in the "Marketplace" (Barakholka) section according to its specific rules. 5. Community Conduct and Content
5.1. Respect. Personal insults, ad hominem attacks, and belittling other participants are prohibited, regardless of their experience or knowledge.
5.2. Language and Profanity. We are an adult community; therefore, moderate profanity "to the point" (e.g., when describing a leaked capacitor on a rare board) is acceptable but should not be the basis of your speech. 5.3. Prohibited Topics. Discussion of politics, religion, or any topics inciting ethnic hatred is strictly prohibited. The forum is a politics-free zone. 5.4. Adult Content (18+). Pornography is prohibited. Any erotic imagery is allowed only in the "Off-topic" section under the NSFW tag and must not violate public decency laws. 6. Technical Hygiene (Flood and Quality)
6.1. Relevance. Please stay on topic within technical sections. For general chatter, use the "Off-topic" section.
6.2. Formatting. Write clearly. Use the "Edit" function instead of posting multiple messages in a row (double-posting). Use appropriate tags when posting code or HEX dumps. 6.3. Trolling. Intentional provocation (flaming) and toxic behavior will be moderated. 7. Moderation and "The Spirit of the Rules"
7.1. Presumption of Common Sense. If a situation is not explicitly covered by the rules, we rely on common sense.
7.2. Final Say. Moderators strive to maintain a "warm" atmosphere rather than formal despotism. However, the Administration's decision is final and is not subject to public appeal. 7.3. Amendments. The Administration reserves the right to modify these rules, providing notice in the relevant section. |
